TUESDAY 10 JULY, 6PM & 7PM  -  EVENT ZONE B, BARRACK STREET ENTRANCE TO PORT OF SUNDERLAND.

WEDNESDAY 11, THURSDAY 12 AND FRIDAY 13 JULY, 1.30PM, 3.30PM & 5.30PM - EVENT ZONE A - PORT OF SUNDERLAND, ON BOARD TALL SHIP SANTA MARIA MANUELA

“Jack’s Story” will see Emma re-enact the story of Jack Crawford who, although being press ganged into the Royal Navy, came to be hailed as the Hero of Camperdown.  He famously “nailed the colours to the mast” after his ship came under heavy fire at the Battle of Camperdown and the Admiral’s flag was felled – a sign of surrender averted by Jack’s actions.  Jack’s daring climb to the top of the mast will be recreated by Emma who will be literally climbing a mast of one of the Tall Ships (Santa Maria Manuela) in a daring display of aerial artistry.
